Mother of Mercy House Invites You:
Host a Screening
Mercy at the Gates is a hard-hitting, honest, and inspiring film about addiction and mercy. This award-winning documentary offers a powerful glimpse into an addict's struggle as well as the struggle of those connected to the addict.
No young person who watches this film will ever want to touch drugs.
No parent will be left unaware of the danger of the fentanyl crisis.
No school or parish will be able to remain on the sidelines of this battle any longer.
This movie is perfect for Catholic parishes, high schools and universities.
There is NO COST to showing this film.
We will send some of the filmmakers and Mother of Mercy House staff to introduce the movie and host a Q&A afterward.
We will bring this film into any space your community can offer no matter the quality of your technology. This story is that important to us.
We have two versions of this film: a 1 hour 11 minute director's cut and a 45 minute theatrical cut.
We recommend the director's cut to get the deepest look into the reality of this crisis.
We recommend the theatrical cut (a PG-13 equivalent) for younger audiences who need a film that is a little less difficult to watch (younger high school audiences).
This director's cut has mild profanity and more visuals of fentanyl wounds. The theatrical cut has no profanity and less visuals of wounds. There is no sexual content or violence in either version.
We will share a temporary password to each version of below for a leader in your community to preview the film.
Dan Tarrant, the director of the film and a national Catholic speaker is willing to attend every screening and speak on behalf the Mother of Mercy House community.
Dianne Hoffman, the executive director of Mother of Mercy House, is also willing to attend.

Every Catholic high school needs to show this film. The kids need to see it. Their parents need to see it. Please take this movie to schools.

Incredible. Just incredible. It was God who made this film. So hard to watch and so beautiful at the same time.

Addiction in 2025 is the leprosy of Christ's time. They are shunned and deemed unworthy. In this film you could really see everyone's hearts shine through.
